COMICS CAFE ELECTED BEST RESTAURANT IN BRUSSELS AFTER JUST FOUR MONTHS!

TripAdvisor has just ranked COMICS CAFE as “Brussels' Best Restaurant: No. 1 out of 1150 Restaurants”. COMICS CAFE is the new brasserie in the VILLAGE DE LA BANDE DESSINEE which opened its doors just four months ago on the Place du Grand Sablon in Brussels. Comics and fine dining, two pillars of Belgian culture, join forces here!

 

The opening of the VILLAGE DE LA BANDE DESSINEE received a great deal of media attention last October, with a grand ceremony  coinciding with the world premiere of Steven Spielberg’s film Tintin. A bronze statue of Tintin and Milou was unveiled at the village entrance on Brussels’ famed Place du Grand Sablon.  Brussels' Alderman for Culture, Mr. Hamza Fassi, was present to celebrate this event with 300 other guests.  

COMICS CAFE opened its doors as a 200-seat restaurant, allowing guests to dine in an incredible comics-themed ambiance : the walls of COMICS CAFE are hung with original sketches, paintings and lithographs signed by the grand masters of the comics world: Hergé, Uderzo, Jacobs, Geluck, Pratt, Morris, Roba, Moebius and many others. Guests eat in a veritable museum of the Ninth Art! A comics bookshop and art gallery can also be found on site.  This 1760-m2  complex  is located right in the middle of Brussels’ historic city centre. One of the most beautiful rooms in COMICS CAFÉ, devoted to  Tintin, is housed in a 17th-century chapel once owned by the Thurn und Taxis family.

The food has clearly been found equal to the decor.  Initially prepared by Fabrice Nessi, formerly of Restaurant DUCASSE in Paris, and subsequently aided by Tony Kitenge, a remarkable Belgian chef, the menu has won the favour of diners! In just four months, 100% positive reviews on TripAdvisor have propelled  COMICS CAFE to the top spot as the readers’ favourite restaurant in Brussels .

The menu at COMICS CAFE includes most Belgian specialties  (Flemish beef stew, vol-au-vent of Malines chicken, cream of Belgian endive soup with truffles). It also offers an excellent variety of  hamburgers, including the now famous “OBELIX BURGER” which is reserved for those with a big appetite.

To celebrate its top ranking as well as Valentine’s Day, the “bubbles” will be flowing freely at COMICS CAFE: until the end of the month, all customers will receive a complimentary glass of Kir Royal before their meal!

LE COMICS CAFE ELU EN 4 MOIS MEILLEUR RESTAURANT DE BRUXELLES !

 

TRIPADVISOR vient de classer le COMICS CAFE « MEILLEUR RESTAURANT DE BRUXELLES, n°1 sur 1150 RESTAURANTS ». Le COMICS CAFE est la nouvelle brasserie du VILLAGE DE LA BANDE DESSINEE qui vient d’ouvrir ses portes il y a quatre mois Place du GRAND SABLON à BRUXELLES. La Bande Dessinée et la Gastronomie, deux piliers du patrimoine belge, sont ici réunis !

 

L’ouverture du VILLAGE DE LA BANDE DESSINEE fut largement médiatisée en octobre dernier avec une inauguration en fanfare, coïncidant avec la sortie du film TINTIN de SPIELBERG. La Statue en bronze de TINTIN ET MILOU avait été dévoilée à l’entrée du VILLAGE, sur la célèbre PLACE DU GRAND SABLON de BRUXELLES. L’échevin à la Culture, Monsieur HAMZA FASSI  entouré de trois cents invités, avait célébré l’événement.

Le COMICS CAFE ouvrait ses portes, brasserie de 200 couverts, permettant aux convives de manger dans un incroyable décor de bande dessinée : aux murs du COMICS CAFE sont accrochés des planches originales, des tableaux originaux et des lithographies signées des plus Maîtres de la BD : HERGE, UDERZO, JACOBS, GELUCK, PRATT, MORRIS, ROBA, MOEBIUS etc. On y mange donc comme dans un vrai musée du neuvième Art ! Une librairie de BD et une galerie sont aussi installées dans les lieux. Le tout dans 1760 m2 en plein centre historique de Bruxelles. Une des plus belles salles du COMICS CAFE  consacrée à TINTIN a été aménagée dans une ancienne chapelle du 17ème siècle qui appartenait à la famille TOUR ET TAXIS.

La cuisine a manifestement été jugée à la hauteur du décor. Initiée par Fabrice NESSI, ancien de chez DUCASSE à Paris, aidé depuis par TONY KITENGE, remarquable Chef belge, la carte a séduit les clients ! 100 % d’avis favorables ont propulsé en quatre mois le COMICS CAFE à la première place des restaurants préférés des internautes de TRIPADVISOR.

HET COMICS CAFE OP 4 MAANDEN TIJD VERKOZEN TOT BESTE RESTAURANT VAN BRUSSEL!

 

TRIPADVISOR heeft het COMICS CAFE net bekroond tot 'BESTE RESTAURANT VAN BRUSSEL, nummer 1 van 1150 RESTAURANTS'. Het COMICS CAFE is de nieuwe brasserie van VILLAGE DE LA BANDE DESSINEE die 4 maanden geleden haar deuren opende op de GROTE ZAVEL in BRUSSEL. Stripverhalen en gastronomie, twee pijlers van het Belgische patrimonium, worden hier bij elkaar gebracht!

 

De opening van VILLAGE DE LA BANDE DESSINEE in oktober was een enorm mediagebeuren, de fanfare kwam het pand inhuldigen op hetzelfde moment dat de film TINTIN van SPIELBERG uitkwam. Het bronzen standbeeld van KUIFJE EN BOBBIE werd onthuld aan de ingang van VILLAGE, op de beroemde GROTE ZAVEL in BRUSSEL. De schepen van Cultuur, mijnheer HAMZA FASSI, vierde het evenement samen met 300 andere genodigden.

Het COMICS CAFE opende zijn deuren als brasserie met 200 couverts, waar gasten in een ongelofelijk decor rond stripverhalen kunnen eten: aan de muren van het COMICS CADE hangen originele tekenplanken, schilderijen en getekende lithografieën van de grootste meesters uit de stripkunst: HERGE, UDERZO, JACOBS, GELUCK, PRATT, MORRIS, ROBA, MOEBIUS, enz. Je kan er dus eten als in een echt museum van de negende kunst! In de ruimte bevindt zich ook een stripbibliotheek en een galerij. Het gebouw is 1760 m2 groot en bevindt zich in het historische centrum van Brussel. Een van de mooiste zalen van het COMICS CAFE is gewijd aan KUIFJE en bevindt zich in een oude kapel uit de 17de eeuw die toebehoorde aan de familie TOUR ET TAXIS.

De keuken werd even hoog beoordeeld als het decor. De verleidelijke kaart werd ontworpen door Fabrice NESSI, die bij DUCASSE in Parijs werkte. Hij wordt bijgestaan door TONY KITENGE, een opmerkelijke Belgische chef.  De 100% positieve commentaren hebben het COMICS CAFE op 4 maanden tijd naar de eerste plaats gestoten van de favoriete restaurants van de internetgebruikers van TRIPADVISOR.
